CoMapeo Updates: Version 10 is here!

The latest update of CoMapeo Mobile v10 is now available. It includes a range of UX and UI improvements throughout the app.

✅ Updates

Improved “Start New Project” experience for devices using large font sizes.

CoMapeo now enables devices using large font sizes to start new projects without any hassles.

Improved uploading experiences for devices using Passcode

For devices using Passcodes, errors experienced during background maps or categories set uploads have now been fixed.

Overall improved translation experience

CoMapeo now supports displaying the device’s language as the translation fallback.

Observation Editor UI improvement for Projects with Long Names

Projects with long names no longer affect the UI, making it easy to change categories once again.

❌ Known Issues

Issue with viewing descriptions in Edit Project Info

Some coordinators might not be able to view their project’s description when editing Project Info

Issue with sharing Exchanged Media

When Exchange Settings are set to Exchange Preview, attachments shared with the Share feature will be JSON, not JPGs or PNGs.

🔧 Troubleshoot: To temporarily fix this, update the Exchange Settings to Exchange Everything and exchange again. This allows the device to receive full image photos which can then be shared.

Issue with accepting Project Invites while Editing Observations

When a person is editing an Observation and the device receives and accepts a Project Invite, then CoMapeo will crash.

🔧 Troubleshoot: Relaunching the app will open the project the device was invited to.

Issue when editing an Observation or Track

When a person is editing an Observation or a Track in the “What is happening here” field, and decides to cancel the edit, the device’s keyboard will hide the ability to save.

🔧 Troubleshoot: Relaunching the app will open the edit screen and can now be canceled or saved.

🚀 What’s Next

Coming Soon: Easily share Background Maps with any device using CoMapeo

Background Maps are device-specific which means when it gets updated the new map is seen across all projects on the device. Changing a background map only affect the devices it lives on. It does not affect any of the observations or project data shared through Exchange.

To easily share background maps, we will be introducing Share Background Maps which simplifies the process to a couple of taps. More soon…
